Appleton Estate Extra 12 Year Old Jamaica Rum has taken top honours in the rum aged 10 - 14 years category at the 2011 Caribbean Alcohol Beverage Awards held recently in Barbados.
The selection process was carried out by a panel of judges using a blind tasting format during the 2011 Caribbean Rum & Beer Festival. All the rums were judged based on four criteria - Appearance, Aroma, Taste and Overall Impression.
Paul Henriques, Managing Director of J. Wray and Nephew Limited noted that he was very pleased that Appleton Estate Extra 12 Year Old was again recognized for its superior quality. "We continuously aim to produce rums of the highest quality and the Appleton Estate Jamaica Rum range has received many international awards in the past. It is a great pleasure to be recognized and honoured in this regional competition."
